Turning Point Ministry Services upholds the fundamental, orthodox truths of the historic Christian faith.

Basic Beliefs

  • The divine inspiration and infallibility of Holy Scripture as originally given and its supreme authority in all matters of faith and conduct.
  • The unity of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit in the Godhead.
  • The universal sinfulness and guilt of humanity since the fall, rendering men and women subject to God’s wrath and condemnation.
  • The conception of Jesus Christ by the Holy Spirit and his birth by the virgin Mary.
  • Redemption from the guilt, penalty and power of sin only through the sacrificial death, as our representative and substitute, of Jesus Christ, the incarnate Son of God.
  • The bodily resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead.
  • The necessity of the work of the Holy Spirit to make the death of Christ effective in the individual sinner, granting him or her repentance towards God, and faith in Jesus Christ.
  • The indwelling and work of the Holy Spirit in the believer.
  • The expectation of the personal return of the Lord Jesus Christ.

TPMS is convinced of the goodness of marriage in God’s design – between a man and a woman, each made wonderfully for the other.

Marriage is a unique relationship, involving deep serving and giving from each partner. It offers the potential for some of the greatest joys in human experience, and also the possibility of great pain.

In God’s design, marriage doesn’t exist for its own sake, but as a signpost that points to the profound love and unity of heart and mind that exists between Christ and his people (his Bride, the ‘church’ – Ephesians 5:25-33). That unity was won by Christ, through his humble death for his Bride, and the grace of his rich forgiveness, freely given to her. Through the work of the Holy Spirit, this grace of Christ changes hearts and minds. All this makes a marriage very precious indeed and is intended to be a living testimony to Christ’s and his gospel.

Sometimes, because of the deep human fallenness and sin, we each bring to the relationship, marriages break down. The Bible recognises this reality.

TPMS is committed to the high value of marriage. Wherever possible and appropriate, we are committed to the reconciliation of the partners in their day to day relationship with each other. And wherever possible and appropriate, we will work hard for the restoration of the marriage itself. We recognise that sometimes these things are not possible or appropriate for various reasons, but that is our hope.

Men & Women

Turning Point Ministry Services is convinced of the Biblical picture of men and women and its goodness.

God made Mankind in his image: as male and female. Men and women share equally the unique dignity of bearing the image of God. They are therefore of equal worth.

However, within their equality, men and women are different from each other. Maleness or femaleness exists in a person from conception and is essential to the nature of that person (in this world). They differ in their physical natures, of course. But they also differ in their personal natures. Each is ‘fearfully and wonderfully made’ (Psalm 139:14). Each is equipped in a marvelous way that serves the other and God’s purpose for them to ‘fill the earth and subdue it’ (Genesis 1:28).

Men and women share equally in the service of Christ’s gospel, and their service is of equal worth to God. Yet men and women are different, are equipped differently, and work in relationships differently. This is reflected in the different roles men and women are given in the Bible, and in the order which God gives for their relationships together in various contexts. Those differences and that order say nothing about their equal value or worth in the world, no matter what people might say from time to time. The service of each within God’s order is beautiful in God’s sight.

Men and women are therefore to honour each other and their various ministries as they are exercised according to God’s word to God’s glory.

Being a Christian is more than just an instantaneous conversion – it is a daily process whereby you grow to be more and more like Christ.

Darkness cannot drive out darkness; only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate; only love can do that.

Martin Luther King, Jr.

God cannot give us a happiness and peace apart from Himself, because it is not there. There is no such thing.
